Amelia Earhart

Collection: History

Earhart was the first woman to receive the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross, awarded for becoming the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

Gladys Boalt ornaments are completely handmade in the United States. Their designs are traditional and share unique characteristics. Each face is hand painted and each figure is adorned with hand-sewn, painted, and applied clothing. Every Boalt ornament is signed and copyright dated. In 1980, these wonderful ornaments were selected for the White House Tree by Nancy Reagan thus paving the way for their admission to the Smithsonian.
